When measuring for a martingale collar please measure the widest part of your dogs neck. If your dog has a large head you will need to measure the widest part to make sure the collar will go over it. Once on the collar can be adjusted to fit snuggly. You should be able to fit two fingers between your dogs neck and the collar.

Pulling on a leash
Please be aware that collars of dogs that pull on leads are worn out considerably faster. This is particularly true for martingale collars, where due to the pulling force, the fabric is constantly rubbing against the metal parts of the collars. The lifespan of collars with dogs that walk on a relaxed leash is much, much longer than with dogs that pull and behave explosively on a leash.

Before & after each walk
Before each walk, ensure that the collar & lead is working properly and is correctly fitted to your dog's neck. Please check buckles & trigger clips regularly. After each walk the collar should be inspected for any damage, if the collar has become wet or dirty it should be immediately rinsed (particularly if the collar has been in salt water).
